Herrmann's Brain cards.....WHAT?!?!?!

It's the fourth day of school and I couldn't be "HAPPIER".....Jk I'm happy I'm back to school, getting new people in my Hub (For american's it's like homeroom.) We have been getting to know the new hub members and bringing them into the routine of high school. It's been great fun. (Just to sum out, I'm in New Zealand. NO IT'S NOT MIDDLE EARTH!!! There aren't flying dragons and Hobbits everywhere!!!!!)

But on the second day, our hub coach (teacher) Tracey, brought us into a break out space (Kind of like an area were we can hang at lunch time and interval.) She got us to sit down in a circle and gave us yellow, blue, green, and red cards, two of every color. The yellow cards represent imaginative, The blue cards represent strategize, The green cards represent organized, and the red cards represent relatable. These particular cards had different words with definitions on them, relating to the particular cards. After we got the cards, we had the choice to either keep them or swap them with the people around us, this was because the words and definitions on the cards might not relate to us. So we swap them with the people around us and arrange them into a line, the top of the line being most like me leading to the bottom which is least like me. The list cards I chose were DreamerImaginativePassionateEmotionalCaringDirectCommunicative, and Factual.
In my opinion, these cards make me up as a person. As you can see there is a lot of red, and two even amounts of blue and yellow, but no green.

I'm not a very organized person, I can't stick to long tasks because I lose focus very quickly, but with short tasks I can focus all of my energy into it so I can finish it. Looking at red which is focused on relatable which to me means I can relate close to my creative side.

That's it for now :)

Resilient thinking

Q: How would I describe resilience to the blue toad, if he asked you?
A: I would tell him resilience to me "Is that I can come back from something that has broken me down and I feel like I can't come back from it, but you can come back from anything that you put you mind to."

Q: How resilient do you think you are?
A: I think that I'm not very resilient as I used to be. I used to be able to come back from something that has been too difficult but as I slowly move through high school, if I come across something that I find too challenging I will give up, but I shouldn't think like that, so I am trying.

If I was Kid President

Hey guys, so as a hub we had to watch videos of this kid called "Kid President" and to me they were very inspirational. He doesn't just talking about changing the world and making it better for everyone he talks about everyone working together to make the world better.

So after watching video after video about Kid President our hub couch asked us "If you were Kid President, what would your pep talk be about?" I think if I was kid president I would talk about equality. Because I believe that everyone should be treated equally, thats how we can form friendships and keep them strong.

TAG TURNED DEADLY!

On Monday afternoon on Herald Island Elise's dog tripped her during a game of tag. She thought she would take her dog out for a little game of tag but that changed when the innocent game turned into a painful day.

It was 4:30pm when she decided to go out and play tag with her dog, Riley. She walked through her pool area, out the back gate and into her back lawn. There was a clothes-line full of hung up towels. She ran back and forth around the clothes line as Riley playfully chased, he jumped at her to tag her but missed when she took a sharp turn and ran for a mound of dirt near an old wooden playhouse.

Riley quickly changed directions and followed after her. She saw him coming after her, she ran down the mound of dirt and back around the clothes-line. With Riley out of site, she thought she would run around the other side of the clothes-line to through Riley off. But that idea failed when Riley ran through hanging towels on the clothes-line. With Elise running across from Riley, unknown of what he just did, she felt one of her legs being pushed with a powerful strength.

She then found herself look up at the sky from the grass she lays on. Riley had charged through her leg, unaware that she would be running that directing. As she lay on the ground with a slight pain in her leg, Riley wasn't fazed at all. Thinking it was still apart of the game.

How does this Quote apply to me?

I think this applies to me because I believe I was never born to fit in, I was born to stand out and not follow, but lead. This quote is just my life.

Smart Goals - 2016 T1

Sup guys! I'm back and welcome to 2016 (Well it's kind of been 2016 for two months now). New Zealand is getting colder and it's awful but being inside a nice warm building is helping with that issue.

So, for the beginning of the year I will set some goals for the my hub couch (Teacher).

As of now I need to start thinking about my goals for the semester and I think I have the perfect goals. I've narrowed it down to two smart goals and I think they will help me improve my work. An Academic goal and a habit goal (from the Hobsonville habits)

Academic goal: Maths.
For as long as I can remember, I have never liked maths. I have always struggled at it and I have never wanted to improve myself in it. But now I see that maths is and will be apart of my life outside of school and I might as well learn more about it, because I found out that it's not just about numbers.

Habit goal: Adventurous.
I've always been adventurous but maybe now I can extend myself in it. I believe that I can further extend myself in this habit because by improving this skill I can look at tasks with a wider knowledge.

Well, that's it for now
Talk to you guys later :)

Digital Footprint

  • What we learnt from Clare? How does it apply to me?
What I learnt from Clare, is that recording my work or just anything in general is good. Because people want to read and learn about our school and about the students and what they study.
  • How can we used that ourselves
I believe that using this is a good way to tell your followers and other people who have just come across your blog all about your work and learning if you're blogging about school or a passion of yours.
  • What is one thing that really matters to me?
What really matters to me is friends and family, because there are sometimes where I feel as if I don't pay attention to my friends and family enough and I want to spend as much of my time with them.
  • What I want to use the blog for?
I want to use this blog to explain and track my learning but I also want to combine it with things outside of school, like sports, dance, and family.

To be edited!
